Introduced by Rep. Virgil Smith, Jr. (D) on February 1, 2005, to ban the sale and possession of “a sharp-edged multibladed device with blades capable of being locked into place for use as a weapon.” “Switchblades” are banned elsewhere in the penal code (MCL 750.226a) .

concept of "bearing arms for the defense of yourelf and the state"?

if you are carrying a knife, you are "armed", if "only" with a knife.

as a previous poster said, never carry a knife to a gunfight.

but i add, that every gunfighter i know ALSO carries a knife.

it's not the THING, it's how you USE the thing that makes it a weapon.

If this scenario were correct you would only get to swing it once before taking one in the coconut. Your statement assumes that whoever is getting the knife swung at is unarmed.
Don't ever bring a knife (even a scary one) to a gun fight.
