Introduced by Rep. Marty Knollenberg (R) on January 22, 2007, to authorize certain cities (Troy in particular) to allow a person required to connect their dwelling to an available public sewer line to not connect for as long as an existing septic system is operating satisfactorily. Under current state law, a person must connect to a new sewer line in a city, village, or township within 18 months of its installation.
