Introduced by Rep. George Cushingberry (D) on May 15, 2007, to authorize salaries for Detroit School Board members equal to 90 percent of what Wayne County Commission members are paid, plus a pension benefit equal to 90 percent of commissioners’ pension. Commissioners get an annual salary of $68,767. Note: Wayne County commissioners also get a $500 per month auto allowance, and an $86,000 annual office budget.

3) What do comparable size & demographic cities in the US give board members? [by Anonymous Citizen on June 28, 2007] ??????????????? With teachers fighting to keep health insurance, I don't see where this is helpful right at this time, but it is worth taking a look at what other states pay. Reply
