Introduced by Rep. Daniel Acciavatti (R) on May 15, 2007, to authorize the creation of county, city, township or village “right to work zones,” where compelling an employee or prospective employee to join or financially support a union as a condition of employment would be prohibited within the boundaries of the community. Right to work zone status could be established by a vote of the jurisdiction’s governing board, or by a popular initiative.
Referred to the House Labor Committee on May 15, 2007.
