Introduced by Rep. George Cushingberry (D) on August 22, 2007, to authorize a new excise tax on most services, at a rate that is not specified in the bill, but would be “determined by the legislature”.
Referred to the House Tax Policy Committee on August 22, 2007.
1) Yet again! [by jmd364 on August 29, 2007] The 2% service tax was defeated earlier this year but this must not matter to the Hon. Rep. Cushingberry who has also introduced legislation to raise the income tax to 4.6% from 3.9%!
Sen. Tupac Hunter would like the City of Detroit Income Tax to remain at 2.5% & 1.75% despite the law which authorizes only 2.0% & 1.0%.
Are the concepts of regressive taxation, unemployment, negative economic growth, and population loss that difficult for these people to understand?
I don't suppose an explanation would do any good.
Their goal must be to bankrupt both the City of Detroit and the State of Michigan.
2) Don't panic [by Anonymous Citizen on August 29, 2007] Just consider the source that proposes this idiotic bill(tax). Reply
3) Stop It You Morons [by Anonymous Citizen on August 29, 2007] How about we fire all you guys and save the money? It will even help out the global warming hoax by stopping all that hot air from being released. Go play solitaire, we don't want you to do anything, don't even show up, the people that elected you won't even notice and if they do they'll be happy that you're not screwing us out of more of our money.
