Introduced by Sen. Deborah Cherry (D) on July 18, 2007, to require the Secretary of State to notify a person in writing whose drivers license is being suspended because of failure to pay the “driver responsibility fees” or “bad driver fees” tacked on to various traffic violations and paid to the state, which were imposed as a revenue-raising measure in 2003, and range as high as $2,000 over two years.
