Introduced by Sen. Michelle McManus (R) on January 25, 2007, to broaden the category of individuals who are permitted to accept payment and perform marriage, individual and family counseling without a therapist license. The bill broadens the definition of clerics exempt from licensure requirements for these activities, and clarifies that the requirements do not apply to public awareness campaigns.

There is nothing in their specific training as a group that guarenttes the well-being of pateints. What about the pasotr that tells his wife it's her duty to have sex even when she doesn't want to? What about the pastor that advises hardh coporal punishment of children? How about the pastor that tells a woman that her running for public offic is again the rol prescribed by God.

Get real, I am a licensed professional and good ministers can get an MA like the rest of us in Social Work, Psychology and the like.
