Authorize involuntary drug use “assessment and stabilization” custody

To authorize and establish criteria and procedures for a court to order a person to be taken into “protective custody” for involuntary “assessment and stabilization” if there is “good faith reason to believe that the individual is engaging in substance abuse, is incapacitated, and has lost the power of self-control.” Relatives, certain officials or several individuals who know the person could petition a court for this.
