To in effect exempt certain charitable fund raising dinners (ones that have been "in existence for at least 10 years") from the state ban on letting employers and restaurant owners choose whether to allow smoking on their property. Reportedly, the amendment sponsor wanted an exception for a charitable "cigar dinner" in his district. The amendment prohibits spending money to enforce the ban at these events.

The Senate version of the Department Of Community Health budget for the fiscal year that begins Oct. 1, 2012. This would appropriate $15.035 billion in gross spending, compared to $14.294 billion, which was the FY 2011-2012 amount enrolled in 2011. Of this, $9.702 billion is federal money. Most of this budget consists of Medicaid health care subsidies.
