Require disclosure of corporate “economic development” subsidy details

To require the Department of Treasury to disclose the details annual tax break and subsidy deal payouts granted to particular businesses and developers under a Michigan Economic Growth Authority law repealed in 2011. The bill was introduced after it was revealed that these deals have generated a unfunded liability of nearly $10 billion. Under current law, information on which companies were granted these special deals and the terms of their agreements are kept secret.
