2017 House Bill 4105: Withhold state money from so-called “sanctuary cities"
Introduced by Rep. Pamela Hornberger (R) on January 26, 2017 To prohibit local governments from adopting or enforcing a policy that limits officials or police from communicating or cooperating with appropriate federal officials concerning the status of illegal aliens. Cities would have to give written notice of their duty to police and other staff, and give written notice to the state that they have done so. Jurisdictions in violation would not receive the optional, non-constitutional portion of state revenue sharing dollars.   Official Text and Analysis.
Referred to the House Local Government Committee on January 26, 2017
Reported in the House on June 7, 2017 With the recommendation that the substitute (H-1) be adopted and that the bill then pass.
