2017 House Bill 4890

Mandate more MCCA disclosures

Introduced in the House

Aug. 16, 2017

Introduced by Rep. Pete Lucido (R-36)

To require the Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association (MCCA) to disclose the actuarial computations used in rate setting. The MCCA is the reinsurance provider that covers unlimited vehicle crash medical claims when they go above $545,000, coverage that is mandated by the state no-fault auto insurance law. The bill would also raise that amount to $555,000.
