2012 House Bill 5402: Establish “animal abuse registry” background checks
  1. Introduced by Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D) on February 15, 2012, to mandate that animal shelters run background checks on individuals wanting to adopt an animal, using the “animal abuse registry” proposed by House Bill 5403.

 As a Animal Warden, and a member of MAACO (Michigan Association of Animal Control Officers), I think this bill is greatly needed. I applaud our congressmen and congresswomen for taking this step to help fight the daily atrocities that some of theses animals go through!
