2012 Senate Bill 1171: Allow municipalities to revise employee pension systems
  1. Introduced by Sen. John Pappageorge (R) on June 6, 2012, to allow a municipality to revoke or change its employee retirement plan or benefits with a majority vote of its governing body rather than a majority vote in a public election. The “accrued” pension benefits already earned by existing employees are guaranteed by the state constitution and would not be affected, but other post-employment benefits could be changed.
    • Referred to the Senate Appropriations Committee on June 6, 2012.

The Legislature has gone way to far screwing around with peoples benefits. I know that they want a Right to Work State but the way they are going Michigan will be a slave state. These same people are getting their salary and Health Care for life after just six ( 6 ) years on the job. VOTE Republican? not on you life.
