Introduced by Sen. Mike Kowall (R) on September 12, 2012, to authorize a special exception to the health care facility rationing imposed by the state’s “Certificate of Need” law that would allow McLaren Health Systems to build a new facility in Clarkston. The bill would also add two “public” members not affiliated with any health-related special interest to the government rationing board, with one of these acting as chairman.
Referred to the Senate Economic Development Committee on September 12, 2012.
Reported in the Senate on September 27, 2012, with the recommendation that the substitute (S-1) be adopted and that the bill then pass.
