2013 House Bill 4134

Eliminate CPL training for military; revise “gun free zone” exceptions

Introduced in the House

Jan. 30, 2013

Introduced by Rep. Frank Foster (R-107)

To eliminate the concealed pistol license firing range training requirement for veterans and active duty military, and exempt "peace officers" from the law's classroom and range training requirement. The bill would also exempt retired federal law enforcement officers who carried a firearm during their employment from the “gun free zone” provision of the concealed pistol permit law. This provision prohibits regular citizens who have received a permit after meeting the background check and training requirements, from carrying a pistol in specified places including schools, stadiums, bars, etc.
