

2011 Senate Bill 59: Revise concealed pistol license procedures (House Roll Call 821)
Passed 68 to 41 in the House on December 13, 2012, to exempt concealed pistol license holders who have completed at least eight hours of additional training from the "gun free zone" limitations in the CPL law, which bans licensees from carrying in a certain areas (schools, day care facilities, sports stadiums or arenas, bars, bar/restaurants, places of worship, college dorms and classrooms, hospitals, casinos, large entertainment facilities and courts). Also, to eliminate county concealed weapon licensing boards, and transfer the responsibility for issuing concealed pistol license (CPL) licenses to county sheriff agencies, and change a number of other details of the CPL law. Assaults in the schools could maybe be stopped. Gun free zones are prime targets for mad men. All gun free zones send a message that says we are satting ducks. My classes for my CLP lead by the county sheriff said these gun free zones you shouldn't go to these places. Avode them as offen as you can.
I see the schools as one of these places and the chruch I attend weekly I go because I feel the need to attend. But offen think I'm a duck waiting for that hunter.
