To create an Aquatic Species Protection Act which would change and unify the structure of the law by bringing together 22 separate acts governing the responsibilities for providing adequate protection and management of aquatic species into an single public act. This is part of a legislative package comprised of House Bills 4150, 4151 and 4737. The bills would also require the Department of Agriculture to consult with the Department of Natural Resources on procedures and policies pertaining to aquatic species.
