2004 House Bill 6349

Eliminate certain foreclosure attorney fee caps

Introduced in the House

Nov. 10, 2004

Introduced by Rep. Stephen Adamini (D-109)

To eliminate a dollar-amount cap on the maximum fees an attorney may charge for mortgage foreclosures by advertisement. These involve the publication and posting of foreclosure and sale notices, and are said to be the most common method of foreclosure on mortgages. The bill would allow a “reasonable” attorney's fee.
