2006 Senate Bill 1331

Authorize "Amber Alert" for certain missing seniors

Introduced in the Senate

June 22, 2006

Introduced by Sen. Irma Clark-Coleman (D-3)

To revise the law that requires law enforcement agencies to enter cases of missing individuals with Alzheimer's disease and dementia into the Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) system. The bill would expand this to include any missing person over age 65 who is believed to be unable to return home without help. Entering the information over the LEIN system triggers the broadcast of an alert about the missing person over the system to area law enforcement agencies.
