2008 House Bill 6160

Create “gasoline practices oversight commission” and mandates

Introduced in the House

May 22, 2008

Introduced by Rep. Neal Nitz (R-78)

To impose new reporting mandates on fuel refiners and retailers that require the former to report to the state each month the amount of fuel they brought into the state, sold in the state, and shipped out the state; and require gas stations to report within 24 hours if prices have gone up by more than 7 cents in a week, and why. The bill would create a new government “gasoline practices oversight commission” to receive the reports, hold hearings, and issue reports.
