Ban so-called assault weapons

To ban the ownership of what the bill defines as assault weapons, which would be long guns capable of accepting a detachable magazine or ones that hold more that 10 rounds, and which have certain cosmetic features such as a pistol grip on a long gun, a muzzle brake, etc. Individuals who own a gun that meets the bill’s definition would have to immediately register it with the State Police, and store it according to rules to be written later, subject to annual government inspections. Violations would be subject to up to four years in prison.
