To establish that high speed police chases by local or State Police must conform with a municipality's local pursuit policy. Any peace officer of a municipality that has adopted a local policy would have the authority to order the end to a chase that does not conform with its policy, or if does not have a policy, does not conform with state rules. An officer initiating a chase would be required to immediately notify dispatchers of specified details.
