2018 House Bill 6302

Revise marijuana plea deal details

Introduced in the House

Sept. 5, 2018

Introduced by Rep. Sheldon Neeley (D-34)

To revise a law that permits prosecutors to defer marijuana possession charges subject to the defendant complying with court-ordered conditions. The bill would eliminate a provision that allows this just one time for an individual. The deferral process keeps the offense off of an individual’s criminal record, except that a non-public record is still kept by police.
