2018 House Bill 6323

Join compact to elect U.S. presidents by a national popular vote

Introduced in the House

Sept. 5, 2018

Introduced by Rep. Tim Kelly (R-94)

To enter Michigan into an interstate compact to elect U.S. presidents by a national popular vote, which would go into effect when states representing a majority of electoral votes (270) have joined. The compact would deliver all of Michigan’s 16 electoral votes to the presidential candidate who won the most popular votes nationwide, even if that candidate lost in Michigan.
