2019 House Bill 4770

Repeal ban on carrying concealed pistol without a license

Introduced in the House

June 20, 2019

Introduced by Rep. Steven Johnson (R-72)

To repeal the law prohibiting a person from carrying a concealed pistol in public without a permit, including in a vehicle. The repeal would also apply to a state ban on possessing a pistol in day care facilities, sports stadiums or arenas, bars, bar/restaurants, places of worship, college dorms and classrooms, hospitals, casinos, large entertainment facilities and courts, except that if privately owned the owners could still ban guns (and carrying in schools would still be banned). An individual could still get a concealed pistol license voluntarily (so as to be able to carry in other states that require this). See also House Bill 4026.
