2022 Senate Bill 1193

Permit more generous government employee health benefits

Introduced in the Senate

Sept. 28, 2022

Introduced by Sen. Jim Stamas (R-36)

To increase from $13,455 to $16,193 the “hard cap” on the amount of employer contributions for an "individual-plus-spouse" health insurance policy under a 2011 law limiting such benefits for government employees, and index these caps to inflation going forward. The bill would also cap the contributions for single-person coverage at $7,743, and $21,116 for employees and elected public officials with family coverage.
