To codify into law the rules governing the process by which standards and qualifications for law enforcement officers are created any overseen by a Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES). Among other things the bill would replace law enforcement officer "certification" with a licensure system, authorize rules for mandatory license suspension or revocation and more.
