2017 House Bill 4641

Senate Roll Call 275: Passed

To extend the statute of limitations on lawsuits by women who were victims of female genital mutilation when they were girls. The bill would allow a woman to initiate a lawsuit against the perpetrator at any time before she reaches age 28. House Bill 4663 authorizes the lawsuits, and the practice would be made a stand-alone felony by House Bill 4636 and others.
