To impose a cap of 200 charter schools statewide, or the number in existence should this proposal become law. A <a href="http://www.michiganvotes.org/2011-SB-608">2011 law</a> eliminated an earlier charter school cap of 150 authorized by state universities (which are the primary charter authorizers in this state).
