To repeal the Dec. 31, 2019 termination date (sunset) on a particular corporate subsidy program ("Good Jobs for Michigan"), and eliminate existing caps on the size of state taxpayer subsidies it can give to certain companies. The subsidies are generally cash disbursements, and were originally proposed to lure a company called Foxconn claiming it would make iPhones in Michigan. When the company instead accepted subsidies from Wisconsin, the proposal was changed to give subsidies to other companies and d by officials.
