2001 House Bill 4041

Introduced in the House

Jan. 25, 2001

Introduced by Rep. Jennifer Faunce (R-29)

To reduce the statute of limitations, from six years to two, governing how long a person may have to file a lawsuit for the reimbursement of attorney fees. Present law allows six years for those seeking damages for breach of contract and other financial matters, and this would not change. However, legal fees resulting from such legal actions may also be recovered in some circumstances, but under this provision they would have to be requested within two years, rather than six.
