To allow parole and probation officers to receive full monetary compensation equal to their employment wages and benefits, when they are injured by a parolee or convict on probation. Presently, this benefit is available to corrections officers who are injured in prison riots, and is implemented by way of the state picking up any additional costs necessary to supplement disability payments that do not equal the employee’s previous wage and benefits.
