To prohibit leaving an unattended child (under the age of six) in a vehicle. Violations not resulting in injury to the child may be punishable by up to 93 days in jail and a $100 fine. Violations resulting in injury to the child are eligible for much more serious punishment. Violation resulting in death would be a felony, punishable by 15 years in prison, and/or a $10,000 fine (see also HB 4196).
