Judith Scranton (2001-2002) on April 17, 2001, to allow school districts to use sinking fund taxes to pay for infrastructure improvements on public property or a public easement that directly affect the school district, such as a road, sewer, or water project. Under current law, schools "sinking fund" taxes can be used for future capital projects, like buying real estate, and construction or repair of school buildings.
