Introduced
by
To amend a law which currently allows a city with a population greater than one-million to enact ordinances concerning the conversion of condominiums that differ from the state condominium act, which is not permitted in other cities, by changing the qualifying threshold population from one-million to 750,000. Currently only the City of Detroit meets this criteria, a city which has recently seen its population change from over one-million to just under one-million according to the 2000 census. This is one of several bills (HB 4868-4873) which must be passed to permit the City of Detroit to continue to qualify for certain provisions of state law.
