To establish new regulations for credit card and discount card privacy. The bill requires that a firm disclose its policy for sharing information from discount card applications, and permit a customer to not have personal information shared without losing any discount; requires a limit on the amount information placed on a credit card receipt, and prohibits writing additional personal information on the receipt; requires credit card receipts held by a firm to be destroyed after eight years; and requires a firm that accepts a credit card to remove their hold on a customer’s line of credit after a transaction is canceled or paid for by another means.
