2001 Senate Bill 134

Introduced in the Senate

Feb. 6, 2001

Introduced by Sen. Loren Bennett (R-8)

To reduce the gross weight registration fees for trucks or vans that weigh less than 20,001 pounds. Current law requires trucks with combined truck and trailer capacity of zero to 24,000 pounds to pay $491 a year, even though many small trucks have a capacity of less than 12,000 pounds. The new fee scale will charge $254 for trucks that weigh between zero and 12,000 pounds, $333 for 12,001 to 16,000 pounds, $412 for 16,001 to 20,000 pounds, and the original $491 for trucks weighing between 20,001 and 24,000 pounds.
