To prohibit a person from operating a car stereo at an output level greater than 90 decibels measured on the a-weighted network of a sound level meter, as specified in American national standards institute standard S 1.4-1971. Ninety-decibels is considered the sound level produced by a loud truck, a tractor, a shouted conversation, a loud food mixer, or the lower range of subway noise.
