To recognize and codify in statute a transfer of functions currently authorized under the “private trade schools, business schools, correspondence schools, and institutes act” to the new Department of Career Development, which was created by executive order No. 12 in 1999. The bill is part of a legislative package comprised of House Bills 5901 to 5923, which consolidate various government job training programs within the department.
