2002 House Bill 6341

Introduced in the House

Sept. 18, 2002

Introduced by Rep. Judith Scranton (R-66)

To allow a school board to cancel a regular or special election if there are no ballot questions other than the school board member election, and the deadline for filing a declaration of intent to be a write-in candidate has passed (see House Bill 6342), and there is only one candidate for each office. If an election is canceled, candidates on the ballot would be considered elected for all purposes under the law, just as if the election had occurred.

Referred to the Committee on Redistricting and Elections
