To make it a crime to possess or release certain non-native aquatic species (nuisance species), including but not limited to the Chinese Snakehead, the Asian and Grass Carp, and the Rudd, punishable by fines or imprisonment. Violators would be required to reimburse the state for any environmental damage as a result of releasing nonnative species. The legislation is part of a package comprised of Senate Bills 1476 to 1481.
