To allow a school board to cancel an uncontested regular or special election if there are no ballot questions other than the school board member election, and the deadline for filing a declaration of intent to be a write-in candidate has passed. If an election is canceled, candidates on the ballot would be considered elected for all purposes under the law, just as if the election had occurred.
