To allow individual employees the choice between compensatory time off ("comp time") instead of overtime pay. Under the current, employees must receive compensation at not less than one-and-one-half times their regular rate when they work for more than 40 hours in a workweek. Employees and employers are prohibited from negotiating time-off as an alternative. The bill would require comp time to also be awarded at one-and-one-half times the amount of overtime hours.
