2003 House Bill 5043

Introduced in the House

Aug. 13, 2003

Introduced by Rep. Ruth Johnson (R-46)

To authorize the recall of Intermediate School District (ISD) board members by voters, upon submission of petitions signed by a number of electors equivalent to at least 10 percent of the number of votes cast for governor in the area covered by the ISD in the last gubernatorial general election. Most ISD board members are appointed by the school boards of regular school districts in the ISD. A few ISD boards are elected by the voters. This is one of a number of bills which have been introduced to reform ISDs.
