2003 House Bill 5296

Require licensure for "going out of business sales"

Introduced in the House

Nov. 13, 2003

Introduced by Rep. Shelley Goodman Taub (R-40)

To require licensure and regulations for "going out of business sales," and prohibit marketing and advertising such sales unless they are genuinely a sale of merchandise upon the discontinuance of a business at a particular location. Among other things, the bill would require a licensee to give the Department of Treasury a list of items sold and their prices for sales tax purposes.
