To disapprove Executive Reorganization Order 2003-14, which would create a state Department of Labor and Economic Growth. The executive order includes a provision which would eliminate the Workers Compensation Appellate Commission, which hears appeals of workers compensation insurance judgments. The commission is one element of a workers comp system overhaul undertaken in 1985 because of quickly rising insurance premiums paid by employers. In general, appeals of workers comp judgments made are heard by the commission, rather than by the courts.
