2003 Senate Bill 428

Introduced in the Senate

April 30, 2003

Introduced by Sen. Michael Switalski (D-10)

To allow nurses to take blood samples from a suspect at a peace officer's request to determine the amount of alcohol or presence of a controlled substance. Under current law, only a doctor or a individual operating under the delegation of a doctor can do this, and the blood can only be withdrawn in a medical environment. The bill would also allow the procedure to take place at a police facility.
