2003 Senate Bill 44

Introduced in the Senate

Jan. 22, 2003

Introduced by Sen. Nancy Cassis (R-15)

To remove health care insurance costs from the revenue base on which the Single Business Tax (SBT) liability firm is calculated over a two-year period (50 percent in the first year and full exemption in the second). Because the SBT is a value added tax, offering health insurance raises a firm’s tax liability.
