To require nursing homes to provide meals which meet a patient’s particular dietary preferences, including, but not limited to, special preparation or cooking requirements, if possible, subject to additional charges, and subject to the patient signing a liability waiver if requested by the nursing home. Under current law, nursing homes are required to provide meals that meet the recommended dietary allowances for a patient's age and sex, which may be modified according to special dietary needs, or ability to chew.
